Enrol at Solway Primary School

Solway Primary School takes enrolments for students in Prep to Grade 6 throughout the year who move in to our school zone. 

 

If you wish to enquire about enrolling your child, please email solway.ps@education.vic.gov.au and include the following information:

  • Parent/Guardian Name/s
  • Contact Phone Number
  • Email Address
  • Child’s Name
  • Child’s Date of Birth
  • Residential Address
  • Current Kindergarten (if commencing prep next year) or; Current School (if transferring enrolment in Grades 1 to 6)
  • Other Relevant Information 

During Term 2 each year we will start taking enrolments for the following year. Enrolment forms are available upon request from the school office. More information is also available below. 2026 Prep enrolments

The Department of Education has released the statewide Prep enrolment timeline for the 2026 school year.

The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child into Prep at a Victorian government primary school, including Solway Primary School.

 

All government primary schools will follow the timeline in 2025 to support Prep enrolments for the 2026 school year.

 

You can find information and resources about the timeline, including factsheets and a poster at: Enrolling in Foundation (Prep).

You will be able to apply to enrol your child in Prep 2026 at Solway Primary School from 22 April 2025.

 

What you need to do:

  1. Book a tour here or contact our school on 9885 2421 to learn more about our school and the enrolment application process. Tours will be held every Friday at 9:30am commencing 14 February 2026.
  2. Download the Prep enrolment information pack from Enrolling in Foundation (Prep) (available by 22 April 2025). This pack includes an application form, which you can also request from our school.
  3. Submit an enrolment application for Prep by Friday 25 July 2025.
  4. You will be notified of the outcome of your application between Monday 28 July and Friday 8 August 2025. If you receive an enrolment offer, you should contact our school to accept the offer by Friday 22 August 2025.
  5. Take part in enrolment information and transition sessions during Term 4, 2025.
  6. Prepare your child to start Prep from Wednesday 28 January 2026.

Enrolment applications submitted after 25 July 2025 will be processed by our school as they are received, in accordance with the department’s Placement Policy.

 

Online enrolment

This year, our school is using VicStudents, an online system for new enrolments in Victorian government schools.

VicStudents is available at select schools, for students who are enrolling in a Victorian government school for the first time. This includes Foundation (Prep) enrolments for 2026. 

 

VicStudents has been assessed by the Department of Education to a high degree of security in line with the Victorian Protective Data Security Standards and is compliant with ISO 27001, the leading international standard for information security. 

 

To commence online enrolment 

Visit students.educationapps.vic.gov.au/s/ to create an account and complete the online application form. Please ensure that all documents required are attached to the application.

 

If applying for Foundation (Prep) 2026, applications open on VicStudents from 22 April 2025. A Quick Reference Guide to using the online system is available here.

Our school zone

Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information on school zones in Victoria.

Students residing within our school zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address.

 

Our school manages enrolments using the Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and may enrol at another school, if there are available places.
