At Solway Primary School, our vision is empowering curious and caring learners to thrive in an inclusive community. Guided by our motto, Our Best Always, we hold high expectations for learning, wellbeing and behaviour, and support every child to achieve their personal best.

Teaching and learning at Solway are grounded in evidence-informed practice. Our instructional approach focuses on explicit teaching, clear learning intentions and regular checks for understanding, ensuring students develop strong foundations in Literacy and Numeracy while building confidence, curiosity and a love of learning. This approach supports consistent academic growth and prepares students to engage deeply with the Victorian Curriculum.

We are proud of our warm, connected school community, where families are valued partners in learning. Our Kinder to Prep Transition Program provides a smooth and supportive start for our youngest learners, and our high-quality specialist programs in Visual and Performing Arts, Physical Education, Science and Japanese offer rich opportunities for students to explore interests and develop talents.

Student wellbeing sits at the heart of everything we do. Through School-Wide Positive Behaviour Supports (SWPBS), our core values of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience are embedded in daily practice, creating a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment where every child feels known and valued.

Our spacious grounds provide outstanding opportunities for play, sport and outdoor learning, and as a 5-Star Sustainable School, we actively promote environmental responsibility and active citizenship.
