Interschool Sport

Solway Primary School is a member of the Glen Iris District School Sports Association (GIDSSA). In this association we compete against local schools in a number of sports, namely: Football, Soccer, Tee-ball, Netball, Volleyball, Cricket, Softball, Tennis, Basketball and Newcombe.

Solway believes involvement in sport helps students grow physically, mentally, emotionally and socially. Participation in team sport cultivates a sense of co-operation, assists with the development of friendships and fosters an appreciation of what it is to be a 'good sport'. All students Year 6 participate in weekly inter-school sport.

Our multi-purpose hall, synthetic turf areas and running track support our inter school sport program. We also utilise the many ovals and sporting grounds in our local community. Students in years 3-6 participate in House and District Competition for swimming, cross country, basketball and athletics.
